What Is the SSW Visa?
The Specified Skilled Worker (特定技能) visa was introduced in 2019 to address Japan's labor shortages in specific industries. It comes in two types: • SSW Type 1 (特定技能1号): For workers with certain expertise and skills. Valid up to 5 years total. • SSW Type 2 (特定技能2号): For workers with more advanced skills. Allows indefinite renewal and family accompaniment.

Arrange pre-arrival orientation and ongoing support 5. Report regularly to Immigration Bureau Tanaka-sensei assists companies in setting up compliant hiring frameworks and preparing all necessary documentation for both employer registration and worker visa applications.
